NorthEastern European Regional Contest started at 10 a.m, December, 3
in the Anichkov Palace located in the very center of St.Peteresburg. 71
teams from 60 Universities of Russia, Kirgizia, Belarus and
Estonia took part in the Contest which was held simultaneously
at St.Petersburg (52 teams) and at Barnaul (19 teams). Each site had
access to the preliminary results of the other site with the help of
Russian Universities Network RUNNet.
The first place took the team from St.Petersburg Institute of Fine
Mechanics and Optics which was also announced the be the first Russian
champion in programming. The second place took Moscow State University
team, the third - St.Petersburg State University team. These three
teams will represent NorthEastern European region in the Contest Finals which will be held on
March 2, 1997 in San Jose (CA, USA) in conjunction with the ACM Computer
Science Conference "ACM Computer Week". |
