| The contest will take place at The City Children Center (Nevsky, 39),
located in the buildings of Anichkov Palace. Anichkov palace was founded
in 1741 by architect M.G.Zemtsov, but it was finished after his death by
F.-B.Rastrelli. Anichkov palace is the oldest building on the Nevsky
prospect retained till nowadays. Count A.G.Razumovsky became the first
owner of the palace, which was given to him by the empress Elizaveta.
Among other palace owners were Ekaterina II, Potemkin, Nikolay I.
Different concerts, masquerades and dances were held at the Anichkov
palace and its garden. After the revolution the Museum of City History
was opened at the palace, and in 1937 The Pioneer's Center was founded
here. Nowadays The City Children Center is the center of art, science and
technology for St.Petersburg's schoolchildren. Many of them are the winners
of different competitions and olimpiads, international as well.
The contest and the award ceremony will take place at the main building
of The City Children Center, registration - at the Science and Technology
Department.
